What IP / degree of protection for the outdoor lights?
As these are exposed to wind and weather, it is important that the luminaires are equipped with appropriate protection. The IP (Ingress Protection)/ degree of protection required for a luminaire determines for what purpose and above all where it will be used.
IP65: The outdoor lights are not only dust-tight, but also protected against water jets. They can be easily sprayed with the garden hose.
IP67: For floor lights that are not protected by a roof. They can withstand heavy rain and are not damaged even if they are temporarily covered completely with water. In the vicinity of ponds or pools, it is therefore essential to choose a luminaire with protection class IP67.
